National union of Telecommunications Employees (NUTE) was formed on 17 September 1959. The union represents non-executive workers in the telecommunications sector.

For now, NUTE has total 7,200 members at few telecommunications companies such as Telekom Malaysia, Telekom Sales & Services Sdn. Bhd., TM&D Sdn. Bhd., TM Info-Media Sdn. Bhd., Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn. Bhd., Celcom Axiata Berhad and the others.

In the past five decades, NUTE successfully signed multiple collective agreements with these telecommunications companies. In 2013, the CA increased the retirement age to 60 years old, and increased workers’ wages at a rate of 5.5 percent.
