Trade unions from Sabah and Sarawak urge governments to reform the labour ordinances immediately

The Labour Law Reform Coalition (LLRC) held two consultation meetings to review labour law in Sabah (21 May) and Sarawak (17 June) in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching respectively.

The LLRC Sabah and Sarawak chapters urge the federal and state governments to reform the Sabah and Sarawak Labour Ordinances immediately. Since workers in Peninsular Malaysia have already enjoyed better benefits after the Employment Act amendments 2022, the governments must not allow workers in Sabah and Sarawak to be discriminated against.
